Psychotherapy

Elaine Daly, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, (MFC 46952) has a practice in North Berkeley working with individuals, families and children. Through body-centered and strength based approaches, Elaine supports people in discovering new, more empowered ways to relate to their lives. Treatment areas include: parenting, couples counseling, anxiety, grief and loss, depression, life transitions and general support.

She sees herself as a guide to help her client's access their natural strengths in order to move through life's challenges and embrace life's blessings.  She is not intersted in over dwelling in the past, rather she uses exploration of the past only when it is useful to break patterns that are inhibiting your full potential in the present. She believes that people have an innate capacity to heal old wounds and create new ways of being in the world.

In addition, Elaine has worked extensively with children, teenagers and their families. She is familiar with both the school system and the probation system. She welcomes families who have concerns about their children or who are dealing with a difficult transitions, such as, divorce, death, moving, addiction or loss of a job.
